Good morning you wonderful people.

Summer is always the time everything slows down. I try to take the whole of July off, but that seldom actually happen. For the most part it just gives me time to catch up on maintenance in the shop, have some fun and make some new tools.

This last month has also been spend forging my first sword, and getting the next 6 months of markets sorted out. First out, this weekend I’ll be down in Rakkestad for Markens Grøde with a couple of friends. Then heading to Hannover, Germany for Maker Fair 10-11th of September, and the last weekend of September it’s a market in my old town of Drøbak, but more about that later.

You’re probably wondering about that sword, right?

It’s not entirely done yet, it’s missing the final paint job and some etching, but I’m sure you Zelda fans out there will like it. I’ll share some proper pictures when it’s all done, but a sneak peak can be found over on Instagram. If you’re into that sort of thing.

It’s been 100 days since my last YouTube video, but I got a new one out very recently! I’m not sure what to call this monstrosity, but it is a workbench, and shelve, and tool storage, and elevates the mess that I had previously made and strewn about the workshop floor.

Blacksmithing Classes

We got two more classes set up, a fundamentals of blacksmithing course and a knife forging course, 3-4th of September and 17-18th of September respectively. Both is of course at Kroloftet in Oslo, and you don’t need any previous forging experience beforehand.

More classes are planned before Christmas, but I got a little bit of exciting news that I’m waiting on the final response from before we can set up more classes here in Oslo.

In addition to that we had a test run of rose making classes during the summer and are looking at doing more during the evening during a weekday, but I learned during the first class that I need to make more tools first, so that there’s not so much waiting around. More information about that should be ready in a few weeks, but feel free to pester me about it. I can be rather forgetful even at my best days.

Lastly, if you have thoughts on other things you’d like to learn, or feedback from previous classes, I’d very much like to hear about it.
